Time flies quickly when you are having fun – and I must say that the experiences that I have had since I launched Elizabeth Michael way back in March 1991 have been at once challenging, exciting, occasionally nerve wracking, but always exhilarating and stretching.

I have grown as an individual and as a businessperson at the same pace as the development of the business; our fates have been interlinked for fast approching three decades and I am as totally and emotionally linked as if we were married – which in a sense we are!

Elizabeth Michael is so much more than a business to me; it is the very embodiment of all that I believe that a great customer facing recruitment consultancy should be with its’ focus aimed sharply at producing outstanding quality and first rate service in the Nottingham area engendering much loyalty from our clients, temporary workers, job–seekers and of course, and very importantly, my own colleagues, many of whom have worked with me for years.

Having previously spent 12 years in manufacturing I have returned to my roots in the service industry. I have been extremely lucky in my career to have worked in various roles spanning customer service to operations and have now brought my extensive experience to John and the team at Elizabeth Michael.

Having been a client of various recruitment agencies during my career I know what ‘good’ looks like and have experienced exceptional service from Elizabeth Michael which is why it was an easy decision to join them and become a part of their success.

Hi I’m Claire!

My recruitment career started when I was a carefree young lass at the tender age of 23. I was made redundant and walked into an agency in Nottingham looking for help (as you do!) I ended up working for that agency as a resourcer and the rest is history!

Before Elizabeth Michael, I was in a 12 year stint in Education recruitment where I built up a great reputation for myself, and worked my way up from Consultant level to the dizzy heights of Branch Manager level. Education has been all I’ve known, but after years of 7:30am starts and a twitch in my right eye, I decided I needed another challenge – that’s when I found Elizabeth Michael. 

When I’m not at work, I enjoy going to see my favourite bands play – I’m obsessed with Biffy Clyro and Foo Fighters. I also love watching movies, eating out and spending time with my friends. I’m happily married to Damon and we are the proud parents to Bear the chihuahua!

Hi, Olivia here, and I am part of the Permanent Division at Elizabeth Michael. I began my career a week after I had handed in my dissertation at the University of Birmingham- talk about hitting the ground running! 

After studying English Literature with Creative Writing and having three years almost entirely to myself, I became available for work and extremely eager for something busy, challenging and fulfilling. I can safely say recruitment encompasses all of this and every day brings fantastic new opportunities for us, for our clients and for our candidates.

I have always lived in Nottingham, however it wasn’t until I moved away to university that I realised how much I love this city! 

Nottingham has an amazing wealth and variety in terms of entertainment, culture and, of course, employment! And I’m fortunate enough to be a part of the best team that dedicate themselves daily to finding the people of Nottingham, and the surrounding area, their dream job. 
I have thoroughly enjoyed becoming adept to handling the many different situations we find ourselves in, as well as getting to know our clients and candidates in order to marry the two successfully. 

When not in the office, you can find me at the gym where I love to lift weights! I am a huge foodie and have a passion for all things health and fitness. As boring as it may seem, I like to finish off my day with a strong cuppa and a good book!

Hi, I’m Alex!

I moved to this beautiful city from a very small, quiet town in West Wales. When the time came for a change, an extremely big change it was!

Once I arrived here it took the path that many people take, namely starting a Temporary assignment whilst searching for my true calling. I felt that I needed a career that was challenging and rewarding, and it was during my personal job search I happened across Elizabeth Michael.

After spending time with Olivia and Claire, I was given the opportunity to meet John, which resulted in me being offered a position within the Permanent Division. I cannot think of anything more rewarding than helping people to find their way to an occupation that they will thrive on as much as I do.

When I’m not working, I’m running around after my gorgeous daughter, Madison. She certainly keeps me on my toes! Making memories with her is my favourite thing to do - especially the endless games of hide and seek!

Hello I’m Hannah

I head up the fabulous Temporary Team at Elizabeth Michael. 

After completing my A levels I was unsure of what career I wanted to pursue but decided to start a Marketing & Advertising course at Lincoln University, after a short time I found that the course wasn’t quite right for me and left to find my dream career (I wasn’t really sure where to find it). I started a role in Recruitment and haven’t looked back since. It is extremely satisfying, exciting and very rewarding and also allows me to talk all day which I am very good at!  I am incredibly proud to lead the Temporary Team at Elizabeth Michael. 

In my spare time I enjoy travelling, long walks in the countryside, Pub lunching and spending time with my friends, family and Husband Jake.

Hi, I am Helen

I am part of the Temporary team here at Elizabeth Michael.

I studied Travel and Tourism at college and had some amazing experiences including going to The Gambia. I loved the course but wasn’t sure if this was an industry I wanted to go into.

Once I had decided that university wasn’t for me I went straight into work where I began my career in a hotel as a receptionist. I thoroughly enjoyed my year there but felt it was time to move on and find something different.

My next role was as Customer Service Coordinator, 3 thoroughly enjoyable years but my feet were itching! I left to do some travelling where I went to some amazing places including Australia and Thailand as well as many European destinations.  

Upon my return I started working for Elizabeth Michael and I am happy to be part of the team!

In my spare time I enjoying travelling, going to the theatre, cooking, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.

Hi I'm Antony and I've been here before!

I spent 5 years managing the temp desk here many years ago with a lady called Sarah.

Since then I've travelled the world twice, worked as Senior Recruitment Officer for a large London based Hospital Trust and as an Employability Broker for Nottingham City Council Economic Development.  I spent 10 years project managing various employment contracts for a large welfare to work organisation across the East Midlands.

Sarah has gone from "temp to perm" and is now my wife and I am the proud father of 3 very rowdy children Jasmine, Max and Harry.

Outside of work I find myself busily ferrying children between gymnastics, swimming, football and Taekwondo and just have enough time left to go to music festivals and football matches.

Hello - I’m Sally, from the beautiful county of Cornwall originally, but have not been there for some time as I lived abroad for nearly ten years, and now live here in the lovely city of Nottingham.

I have worked as part of the Elizabeth Michael Team for well over 10 years, and I have to say, it has been quite a journey!

I originally joined as part of the Marketing team and as much as I found this work rewarding, I also discovered that other aspects of the business particularly intrigued me. I found myself compelled to offer to help in administration tasks across the office, becoming involved in the advertising of roles, credit control and anything else that I could try my hand at.

Eventually, I realised that I so enjoyed this new aspect of my role that I was delighted to be offered the opportunity by our Managing Director, John Hyde, to join the Administration Team on a permanent basis. A few short years down the line, I am now heading up the Finance/Administration Department and loving every minute.

After working in the Sales and Marketing arena for more years than I care to recall, I thrive on the constant progression and demands of the role.  I have learned many things during my time at Elizabeth Michael, not just the skills and abilities necessary to efficiently run the Finance/Administration department here, but on a personal level as well.  Quite honestly, I didn’t know I was grown-up enough to shoulder the responsibility that John had trusted me with! 
It’s amazing what one can achieve when a little faith has been placed in them.

When I am not at work, after a workout in the gym I like to relax with a glass of wine, play my Xbox One or PS4, go to the cinema and try local restaurants with my fiancé, Patrick.

Hello, I’m Sam, 
I am a Nottingham girl through and through, and as they say there really is no place like home. 

After leaving University, you could say I got stuck in a rut! I had no clue what to do next. From leaving school I had worked in a fashion retailer part-time basis but after University this became my full-time role and I progressed to the role of supervisor.  

After a year’s supervisory experience, I felt I was ready to move on.  

A friend suggested I approach Elizabeth Michael; I was invited to their offices to register where I was asked if I would be interested in working with the Elizabeth Michael team, specifically in the Administration and Support division. Following a meeting with John Hyde and Sally Hosken I was absolutely over the moon to be offered the position as this was an offer I simply could not refuse. 

I am still learning something new every day and best of all no two days are the same. Looking back a few years ago a career in recruitment would not have crossed my mind – I am very happy I took the plunge! 

When I'm not sleeping, or eating, I love spontaneous outings, spending time with my family, holidays and long country walks. Also, I consider myself a TV/film junkie and a huge animal lover.

Hi, I'm Jess

A countryside raised girl with a love for the great outdoors and all animals.

Upon leaving sixth form, I knew university wasn't the path I wanted to go down so I got myself a job in high-end retail. Meeting and helping new customers everyday was something I really enjoyed, but after a lengthy discussion with my partner, we realised we were ready to start new careers in a new town, and we chose Nottingham.

After he quickly secured a new job, I moved with him in search of a new career for myself, first stop was the local recruitment consultancy - yes you guessed it – Elizabeth Michael.

After meeting with the consultants to discuss my ambitions and options, I was introduced to Joh Hyde, with whom I spent a couple of hours finding out about Elizabeth Michael, and John finding out about me.  I was delighted when he offered the opportunity to work as part of the Elizabeth Michael Team and instantly knew it was a company I’d love to work for.

In my spare time I love to explore the country and try new food. I have three crazy border collies that accompany me on my adventures, who also like to eat my new food!
