  • Provide an efficient clerking service to professional clients
  • Data entry of instructions, briefs, professional fees and related items

  • Management of diaries

  • Supervision of outgoing mail
  • Maintenance of the company’s case management systems and electronic file records

Skills/Attributes/Experience:

  • Experience within a secretarial/administrator role is ESSENTIAL
  • Excellent telephone manner, with the ability to prioritise workload
  • IT literacy

Our client are seeking to appoint an efficient and dependable Legal Secretary to provide a high standard of support! You will be able to work at speed but with accuracy in this fast-paced environment.You will be proactive, keen to learn and to integrate yourself into the team culture, ensuring optimum efficiency!

Responsibilities

  • Secretarial support to one or more lawyers
  • Use of audio typing
  • Maintaining the case management system
  • Dealing with client queries and organisation of files and diary system
  • Receiving telephone calls from clients, contacts and external and internal staff
  • Transferring calls and relaying messages to the team where necessary
  • Typing of letters, reports, agendas, proposals, Powerpoint presentations and other general correspondence
  • Diary management
  • General administration duties including photocopy, scanning, binding, all aspects of filing
  • Processing incoming and outgoing post, opening and distributing mail

Skills/Attributes/Experience:

  • Experience in a similar role within either a legal setting is ESSENTIAL
  • Audio typing skills are ESSENTIAL
  • Proficiency with Microsoft packages, specifically Word & Excel
  • Strong administration skills

You will join the department at a stage of real growth and this is a huge opportunity for the right individual to make a real impact in the department and its growth moving forward. You will deliver an elite service to businesses of all shapes and sizes by providing advice and recommendation to the business owners in the areas of wills, trusts and estate planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handling your own caseload of business estate planning files
  • Attending client meetings and advise on all aspects of personal and commercial estate planning and managing the file from inception to close
  • Draft wills, trusts and lasting powers of attorney and any other ancillary work and ensure all documents are executed correctly in line with company timeframes
  • Referring clients for any financial services or any other services required which are out of the scope of the role of an advisor in legal practice
  • You will be responsible for developing, maintaining and nurturing relationships with business connections
  • Keep up to date business books and billing and banking statistics

Skills/Experience/Attributes:

  • 3-4 yrs + experience in law and/or working in a B2B industry is ESSENTIAL
  • A passion and drive to work with business owners
  • Ability to provide advice and recommendations confidently and be assertive where necessary
  • High energy and enthusiasm with a professional attitude
  • Experience in managing client files/matters and their expectations throughout
  • Hardworking, flexible and reliable and ability to use initiative
